Adelaide CarromClub · Est. 2024

Five ways to lose the strike — and what it costs.

Fouls and Penalties

Every foul in the official rules, with the penalty that follows it.

Foul01#

Only the queen potted on the break

While opening the board, if only the queen is potted and none of your carrommen are potted, your turn is over and the queen is placed back in the centre.

  • Turn ends.
  • Queen returns to the centre.
Foul + penalty02#

Striker touches only opponent carrommen

If your striker only touches your opponent’s carrommen directly, and none of your carrommen or the queen is disturbed, that opponent’s carromman will be potted and your turn is over.

  • The opponent’s carromman is potted for them.
  • Turn ends.
Foul + penalty03#

Striking a carromman that touches your baseline

Your striker must not touch any carromman directly if it is touching your base line.

  • That carromman is replaced in its original position.
  • One of your potted carrommen is placed in the centre.
  • Your turn is terminated.
Foul04#

Playing the opponent’s last carromman

You cannot play your opponent’s last carromman directly — unless both teams have their last carromman on the board and the distance between them is less than a striker diameter.

Foul05#

Improper striker placement

The striker must not touch the diagonal line, and must not leave the baseline area improperly.
