The queen can be pocketed any time after a player pockets their first carromman.
The red piece has to be earned twice.

Covering the queen
To secure the queen, a player must cover it by pocketing one of their own pieces immediately afterward — not in the same strike. If it is not covered, the queen is returned to the centre.
- The cover must be a separate, following strike.
- The cover must be one of your own carrommen.
- Fail to cover, and the queen goes back to the centre circle.
